  • X4 (Keswick - Cockermouth via Castle Inn), alight at Brathay Hill. Both services run all year.
  • Trains: none since 1966!
  • Bicycles: 3km / 2 miles from the coast to coast route, racks available.
  • The site is free for visitors to enjoy all year round on a permissive basis.

In order to ensure your and other's safety we have some site rules:

  • Sensible footwear
  • Stay on the paths
  • Keep dogs on a lead at all times
  • Pick up dog litter, a bin is available to put it in.
  • This is part of a working farm: keep clear of farm vehicles and animals
  • Pick up any litter (bin available)
  • No smoking
  • Keep safe, there can be deep water in places
Dogs on leads are welcome BUT
  • We have an agreement to this effect with the tenant farmer, whether or not there is stock in the meadow. The grass needs to be kept unpolluted for traditional haymaking.
  • There are ground-nesting birds, deer and other wildlife. (We have had a deer killed escaping from a dog.)
  • The path is permissive, not a right of way, so if people wish to walk their dog unleashed please could they take it elsewhere.

Dubwath Silver Meadows is managed by a dedicated group of volunteers.
