wildlife
Dubwath Silver Meadows is a marvellous place to look at and learn about wildlife -
Birds and Butterflies:
A variety of birds are regular visitors to our feeding stations. If you are very lucky the osprey flies over the reserve in summer when fishing from its local nest site.
The Small Pearl-bordered Fitillary butterfly is a rare species whose larval food plant, Marsh Violet is found in the reserve.
Moths:
Recorded by a local expert as and when the weather allows. These events are open to the public and advertised on the website.
Coleoptera (beetles and bugs):
are many and varied, these are not often seen, but have been recorded over the past few years.
Flora and fauna:
Wildlife walks are held in the summer months, keep an eye on our social media for forthcoming events.
Mammals:
Roe deer are regularly seen around the reserve, we also have received sightings of badger, bats, red squirrel, voles and mice.
